We are very excited to have earned the Certificate of Training for PSA Grower Training Course
from the Produce Safety Alliance.
A Certificate of Training awarded for the PSA Grower Training Course is issued by the Association of Food and Drug Officials (AFDO) upon successful completion of the standardized curriculum developed by the Produce Safety Alliance (PSA)—a collaboration between Cornell University, FDA, and USDA.
hat the Certificate Represents
Credential: Verifies that a participant has completed the full PSA Grower Training, which satisfies the FSMA Produce Safety Rule requirement under 21 CFR 112.22(c):
“At least one supervisor or responsible party for your farm must have successfully completed food safety training at least equivalent to that received under standardized curriculum recognized as adequate by the Food and Drug Administration.”
Eligibility: To receive it, participants must:
Attend all sessions of the seven-module course (either in-person, online, or remote)
Be present and engaged throughout
Submit evaluation paperwork to their trainer after completion

Format Options:
Traditional in‑person (typically 7–8 hours across one day)
Online, self-paced (15–30 hours over ~3 weeks)
Remote instructor-led, live via Zoom/Webex, sometimes over two days
Summary
Upon completing all required modules and activities, and submitting necessary paperwork, participants earn an AFDO Certificate of Course Completion, officially recognized as a valid credential under FSMA Produce Safety Rule § 112.22(c).
